Our First Look at Gabriela Hearst’s New Menswear Collection

Gabriela Hearst’s late mother-in-law Austine Hearst was a reporter at The Washington Times-Herald who penned a society column called “Under My Hat” in the 1940s. So when she decided to create her first-ever menswear she looked to Austines description of the "Ideal Male Fashion Plate" for sartorial inspiration.
"Men should aim for nonchalance, individuality, without novelty.” Her platonic ideal of a fashionable man is one who tries “not to be too neat, too matched up, too color-schemed, and too snugly fitted.”
